Today it is difficult to find a person who has not heard of Lego. The history of the famous construction brand is over 70 years old. LEGO, a company originally from Denmark, was founded in 1932, but it was only in 1949 that the company first produced its famous colourful bricks and pieces.
In 1968, the world’s first theme park, Legoland https://znaki.fm/places/legoland-uk/, opened its doors in the Danish city of Billund. Today, there are several such parks scattered around the world, and we will tell you about them.
What do the parks look like?
Legoland is usually divided into several sections or zones. Both parents and children will enjoy the minilands, which are the central parts of each park. There are mini-replicas of the world’s most famous landmarks made of construction sets.
There is the Statue of Liberty, the Taj Mahal, and all the main urban infrastructure of the tour: streets, ports, squares, shops. The whole world in miniature. Toy cities perfectly imitate real life with all its dynamics – vehicles move, ships sail, there is illumination. Some of them are even interactive: you press a button and a Lego model comes to life.
There is also a duplo-land, a part of the park with a special soft surface so that the youngest visitors do not fall and cannot get hurt. There is the territory of the Wild West, the land of pirates and knights, the world of imagination with a cinema, the world of adventure with attractions, including water rides. And, of course, the park area is a LEGO city.

2 – 12 The park is designed for children aged 2 – 12, but it depends on how interested your child is in LEGO. If your child is looking for thrilling rides, then our park may not be right for them.
Legoland UK welcomes guests of all ages, so you can visit with your family or friends. Please note, however, that guests under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over.
Can adults visit LEGOLAND Discovery Centre without children? Adults must be accompanied by children to enter LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. Most attractions are designed for kids. Legoland UK appreciates that adults love LEGO too, and we organise exclusive adult nights for adult LEGO fans without children.
Legoland attractions
All of the dozens of rides are marked with age and height restrictions. But even the youngest visitors have plenty to do: observation and playgrounds, trains, small slides, and a children’s electric car.
Teenagers are even more interested. They can even assemble their own racing car and arrange competitions with other park visitors. There is a shooting range, climbing artificial rocks, firefighting, gold mining and much more.
You can buy tickets on the spot at the park’s ticket office, but it’s better to do it online in advance on the website, and you’ll probably get a discount. On weekdays, there are fewer people, so most holidaymakers advise choosing days from Monday to Friday. All legoland parks operate on their own schedule depending on the season. European parks are closed in winter.
